The Seward State Parks Citizen Advisory Board, along with the Kachemak Bay State Park and the Kenai River Special Management Area Advisory Boards, are seeking volunteers for the respective boards.
The Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation is looking for an outdoor enthusiast and public land advocate. The Seward State Park Citizen Advisory Board meets on the third Wednesday of the month from September through May at 5:30 p.m. at the AVTEC Culinary Academy. Those chosen will have to commit to a three-year term.
“We are looking for a variety of recreation enthusiasts and public land advocates interested in advising parks staff and helping the parks teams manage communication with the public,” said Jack Blackwell, superintendent of the Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation, Kenai Peninsula Region, in a press release.
The advisory boards provide input with state park management and how Alaska State Parks integrates public involvement.
The Alaska State Park Advisory Board Application can be found at dnr.alaska.gov/parks/misc/boards.htm. Completed applications can be sent to Superintendent Jack Blackwell at firstname.lastname@example.org.
