The Snow River String Band, Seward’s home-grown bluegrass band, delighted the audience at a party held Friday to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Seward Senior Center.

The ensemble of Seward High School students played bluegrass instrumentals and popular songs like Bob Dylan and Ketch Secor’s “Wagon Wheel,” the Beatles’ “Rocky Racoon,” and “Little Talks” by Of Monsters and Men.

Partygoers also amused themselves before the music with a “selfie booth,” said Senior Center Director Dana Paperman – striking silly poses, making funny faces and generally goofing off as in the photo booths of old.

The Snow River String Band is composed of brothers Karl and Max Pfeiffenberger, Lucy Hankins, and Lydia Jacoby.
