The American Legion Seward Post 5, Sons of American Legion, and the Auxiliary donated $7,000 to fund “Take a Veteran to Lunch”, a Seward Senior Center winter program. This is our 10thyear of this terrific partnership, assisting the senior center in meeting the nutritional needs of our senior veterans and their spouses.

We are grateful for the continuation of this valuable partnership which provides substance to a veteran's life, as well as protecting their dignity by allowing them the opportunity to dine at the center without the need to make a financial contribution.

These funds aid seniors in helping them afford other winter costs such as a higher heating bill, transportation, and winter clothing.  You too can make a difference in a senior veteran’s life by spending quality time with them, offering them winter assistance of snow shoveling, or just a simple gesture of “thank you for your service.” Together we can improve the lives of those who made the ultimate sacrifice of serving in the armed forces.

Thank you members of the American Legion Seward Post 5, the Auxiliary, and Sons of American Legion. You have all made a positive difference in our community of veterans and their families. We are forever grateful.
