On July 7, Seward City Manager Scott Meszaros submitted a resume and letter of interest for the position of Matanuska-Susitna Borough Manager. The submission came 14 months after Meszaros first assumed his city manager post in Seward.
“I thoroughly love Alaska but find myself looking to return to a larger organization and community,” Meszaros stated in his letter to the borough. “I feel that your needs match up to what I can provide.”
There are currently seven candidates under consideration for Matanuska-Susitna Borough Manager. Pre-recorded video interviews with the candidates will be reviewed publicly at a special meeting of the borough assembly on Thursday, Sept. 10 at 3 p.m.
Seward Mayor Christy Terry declined to comment on Meszaros decision to apply for the Mat-Su position.
