On Monday the Seward City Council convened a special executive session to discuss proposals submitted by Chugach Electric and Homer Electric outlining offers to purchase the city’s electric utility. Though no details have been disclosed regarding the content of that discussion or of the two proposals, the City Council has elected to continue the conversation in another executive session on Sep. 26, pending the obtainment of further information.
“The council and the mayor provided direction back to myself and the city manager as far as getting some more information before the next executive session,” said Seward Electric Utility Director Rob Montgomery, “and our assessment will continue at that point, in that executive session.”
An executive session of the City Council will be convened during its regular meeting on Monday, Sep. 26. Citizen comments will be permitted before the Council enters executive session. Call City Clerk Brenda Ballou at (907) 224-4046 to sign up.
