J-Dock resident, Timothy O’Rourke, 66, passed away on March 20, 2023, in Seward, Alaska.
Tim was born on December 16, 1956, to John Patrick and Mary O’Rourke in Logansport, Indiana. Fulfilling a childhood dream, he moved his family to Healy, Alaska in 1993. He was a mechanic, welder, musher, goldminer, and homesteader.
Tim moved to Seward in 2006 and lived onboard the Seawolf. He would fix boats that no one else could fix. He acquired his cat, Bobber, in 2015 and was well known around the harbor where he took her for walks. Tim and Bobber were popular with the tourists. He was a man who never met a stranger and entertained people with his stories.
Tim is survived by his sons Travis and Tim, daughter Rachael, four grandchildren, and his beloved cat Bobber.
A private memorial will be held at a later date. The family wishes memorial contributions be made to the City of Seward Animal Shelter.
