Ronda Kay Lange passed away quietly at home from complications due to COVID-19 on October 31, 2021. Ronda was born in Ely, Minnesota on October 2, 1967, and moved to Skagway Alaska in 1980, where she spent much of her childhood. Ronda moved to Seward with her family in 1985, where she attended both Seward High School and AVTEC. Ronda completed her education shortly before welcoming her children, Derrick and Kendra in 1987 and 1988, respectively
She met Jason Lange, her husband of 29 years, in 1992 and they married on October 9, 1998.
Ronda was known for her infectious smile, practical jokes, random acts of kindness, and love for animals. She would often purchase clothing, food, and other necessary items, and deliver them to families in need. She was also a fervent supporter of animal rights and spent much of her free time donating to rescues and arranging necessities for homeless animals.
Although we remember Ronda for many wonderful things, her greatest achievement was her family.
Ronda is preceded in her death by her infant brother Ron Marlot and sister Corrine Maus. She was immediately succeeded in death by her sister, Melonie Mahle. Ronda is survived by her husband, Jason Lange; children Derrick (and Maile) Branson and Kendra (and Sophia) Branson; mother and stepfather, Sharon and Gary Ackerson; brother, Neil Marolt; and nieces and nephews Travis (and Michaela) Ackerson, Miranda (and Chris) Mavis, Lucas Everett, Alicia (and Brandon) Godkin, Amanda Maus, Eric Maus, and Melanie Maus.
In lieu of a service, Ronda’s family asks that you continue her legacy through random acts of kindness to those in need. Donations in Ronda’s honor can be made to the Seward Animal Shelter.
