Kelly Cynthia Smith

Kelly Cynthia Smith, age 61, passed away at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage on April 14 from complications related to heart failure and diabetes. Her sister Kim was at her side. 

Kelly was born on April 15, 1960, in Fairbanks to Loren and Marlene (Neve) Kirkbride and grew up in Anchorage and Seward. She graduated from Seward High School in 1978. She married Donald Saindon with whom she had her son, Donny Saindon, Jr. Later in life she lived in Green Cove Springs, Florida for many years with her husband, John Statham. When he passed away in 2018 she returned to live in Seward.

Kelly was preceded in death by her mother Marlene Neve, sister Kaylene (Kahler) Goebel and husbands Donald Saindon, Russ Smith and John Statham. She is survived by her son, Donny Saindon, Jr. and her granddaughters Ella Van Cleve and Athena Saindon, her siblings Kim Reierson and husband Skip, Kevin Kahler and wife Tina, Keith Kirkbride, Kent Kahler and Karolyn Hastings and many nieces and nephews.

The family will hold a private gathering in the future to spread Kelly’s ashes. Memorial donations may be made to the Seward Community Foundation at www.sewardcf.org.
